The Artist

The minute I held a camera in my hands and looked through the lens, I knew

I wanted to be a photographer.

I began my career as a still photographer in the motion picture industry. I opened my own portrait studio in 1985 specializing in gelatin silver prints – delicately hand-tinted in oils. In 1992 I began painting flowers and experimenting with shooting flowers close up. My first fine art show of flowers was in 2010. A few prints for that show were reproduced in large format on canvas. By the end of 2010, my studio was completely digital. This most recent collection of floral images are in color, large format, printed on exhibition quality archival watercolor paper. There is power and voluptuousness in these large scale images, a quiet harmony that thrills me each and every time I look at them.
